This food web shows the cycle at which food is transferred between organisms. First, the sun helps grow the plants (lichen, grasses, and arctic wildflower) to provide food for the herbivores (arctic hare, lemming, caribou, and musk ox). Then the carnivores (hawk, polar bear, wolf) come in and eat the herbivores to regain its (the carnivores) energy.
If the sun was taken out of this food web the plants won't grow if the plants don't grow the herbivores won't have food to eat and they will eventually get skinny and die. As for the carnivores with out a large population of herbivores the carnivores will grow hungry and slowly die as the herbivores did.
